Bernhard Günther
Chief Executive Officer
Bernhard Günther joined Novaliq as Chief Executive Officer in January 2007. He has more than 18 years of experience in the field of biopharmaceutics and medical devices. Prior to Novaliq, Mr. Günther served as Chief Executive Officer of Fluoron GmbH, a German medical device company, which pioneered the development of ophthalmic implants based on semifluorinated alkanes for the treatment of serious retinal diseases. During his tenure at Fluoron, Mr. Günther was also responsible for the successful development and launch of the long-term endotamponade Densiron® 68 and the intraocular staining solution Brilliant Peel® as well. Mr. Günther was for 10 years the Head of Regulatory Affairs and Managing Director for Marketing and Sales at Geuder AG, a leading ophthalmosurgical company in Germany. He also served as a member on the Board of Fluoron GmbH. Mr. Günther holds a Diploma in Polymer Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Darmstadt, Germany. |

Dieter Scherer Ph.D.
Chief Business Officer
Dieter Scherer joined Novaliq in April 2009 as CBO. His 20 years of experience covers the gamut from business development and licensing to product development in the field of drug delivery. His experience covers a wide variety of dosage forms, with his speciality in working with the delivery of poorly soluble drugs. After filling various staff and line functions with increasing responsibilities at LTS Lohmann in Germany and SkyePharma in Switzerland, he set up his own consultancy (Apis Pharma AG) in 2003 advising drug delivery companies throughout Europe. Mr. Scherer graduated as Pharmacist at the J.W. Goethe University in Frankfurt and later received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Technology from the same faculty. |
